Aside from that, you can also enjoy just about anything a vegan can enjoy, as far as fruits and vegetables go, but of course, you want to avoid things like pita bread, croutons in salad, a lot of salad dressing, etc. Nuts and seeds are, for the most part, on the menu as well, including walnuts, almonds, sunflower seeds, and pumpkin seeds. You can even enjoy some wine and dark chocolate now and then. That being said, are there any risks to the low- carb diet? Yes, there are some health risks associated with the low- carb diet, including the famous Atkins diet. They’re known for being high in cholesterol, which might increase your chances of heart disease.
